Airmyn Road, Goole, DN14 6UU
West Park is the largest, and one of the most popular public parks in Goole, covering more than 32 acres. West Park has great facilities for all the family and there is something for everyone. See below for more information on what West Park has to offer.
Opened in 1923, the park was initially funded with monies from the Unemployed Grants Committee at a cost of £15,500. The original landscape featured a range of buildings including a bandstand, two shelters, a tearoom and public conveniences, with ample outdoor space for bowls, lawn tennis (both grass and hard court), football and hockey. A large paddling and model yacht pool provided a focal point for visitors with a well-equipped children’s play area complementing the other facilities on offer.
The park has toddler, junior and inclusive play equipment including a wheelchairs swing and roundabout.
There is a whole host of sports and exercise equipment at the park including a multi-use games area, basketball rings, BMX tracks, gym equipment, sports pitches and a bowling green.
A 5km Parkrun takes place every Saturday morning, which is very popular, and sees many people taking part.
