A day for the community to come together in a Garden Party!
Join us as the bandstand comes alive with performance, music and family fun. Opening the event at 12noon will be an hour-long set from the Goole and East Riding Concert Band, followed by Swing Jamboree delivering vintage swing and jazz vibes. Additional family entertainment to be announced!
Celebrating the nation’s favourite dish – a pop-up fish & chip van (along with drinks vendors) will also be in attendance so you can enjoy a great British picnic.

A service that will be equally reflective and joyful to commemorate VE Day.
The evening’s event will join communities across the nation in lighting a Lamp of Peace, and a nationwide singalong of I Vow To Thee My Country – led in Goole by the much-loved Warblers Choirs.
Those who have served are invited to wear uniform/medals as appropriate.

Joining up with events across the nation, the event at the cenotaph will remember all those who paid the ultimate sacrifice to achieve a lasting peace.
Reverend Hannah Patton, Vicar of St John’s, Keith Sacre, Chair of the Royal British Legion Goole & Howden Branch, and Cllr Anthony Raspin, Mayor of Goole, will lead a service where the VE Day 80 flag will be raised.
Representatives from the armed forces and local school children will be in attendance, with the Last Post and Reveille sounded by Steve Walker.
