Who we are

Goole Town Council provides local services including managing the town’s Theatre/Cinema, parks and gardens, market, cemetery and allotments. We are committed to working with partners and residents to make Goole a vibrant town. When you use Goole Town Council services, you trust us with your information. Record retention periods

Goole Town Council has the following data retention periods in place:

Accounting Records

6 years

Accident/Incident Report Forms

3 years from the date of the last entry or if involving a minor, until that person reaches the age of 21

Income Tax, NI Records and correspondence with HMRC

Not less than 3 years after the end of the financial year to which they relate

Medical Records as specified by the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH)

40 years from the date of the last entry

Medical Records under the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations

40 years from the date of the last entry, 4 years from the date of issue

Records relating to Children and Young People

Until the child/young person reaches the age of 21

Retirement Benefits Schemes

6 years from the end of the scheme year in which the event took place

Statutory Maternity Pay Records

3 years after the end of the tac year in which the maternity period ends

Wage/Salary Records

6 years

National Minimum Wage Records

3 years after the end of the pay reference period following the one that the records cover

Records relating to working time

2 years from the date on which they were made

Personnel Files

6 years after employment ceases

Data Breaches

Goole Town Council has undertaken appropriate measures to ensure the security of data and staff with access to personal data have received training on best practice surrounding its use. Should a suspected data breach occur, it will be reported to the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) within the specified timescales.
